1. About Doubtit
Privacy questions and data requests can be sent to [email protected].
2. What this policy covers
This policy explains what personal information Doubtit collects, why we use it, how it is stored and shared, and the choices available to users.
3. Information you provide
- Account information such as email address, username and display name.
- Date of birth, collected to verify that you meet Doubtit's 16+ age requirement. Your date of birth is not displayed on your public profile.
- Optional profile information such as bio, worldview and profile photo.
- Community content you create, including group discussions, replies and reactions.
- Saved books, saved discussions/messages, group memberships and notification preferences.
- Reports, moderation-related information and block relationships.
- Messages or other text that you voluntarily send to Doubtit AI or its thinking tools.
4. Information collected automatically
Doubtit may receive normal technical information needed to operate the service, such as request metadata, security logs and authentication/session information provided by our infrastructure. We do not intentionally collect precise device location, contacts, microphone, camera, health data or photo/video post content as part of the current product design.
When you enable phone push notifications, Doubtit stores the device notification registration information needed to deliver notifications to that device.
5. How we use information
- To create and secure accounts and authenticate users.
- To display profiles, group memberships, discussions, replies and other community features.
- To provide saved items, notifications, moderation and support functions.
- To provide Doubtit AI, Claim Check, Logical Fallacies and Thought Experiment.
- To maintain security, prevent abuse, investigate reports and improve reliability.
- To comply with applicable legal obligations.
6. AI features
When you use Doubtit AI or a thinking tool, the text you submit is sent to our AI processing provider, Google Gemini, so the requested response can be generated. Doubtit does not intentionally send your account email or profile identity as part of the model prompt. AI conversations and tool results are not intentionally stored in our Doubtit database.
Do not submit passwords, financial information, government identifiers or other highly sensitive information into AI prompts.
7. Service providers and sharing
Doubtit uses service providers to operate the application, including Supabase for authentication, database and storage infrastructure, and Google Gemini for AI processing. For community safety, message text may also be processed by an automated moderation provider before publication when AI moderation is enabled. We do not sell personal information and do not currently use personal information for targeted advertising.
We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to prevent fraud or abuse, protect users, comply with law, or enforce our Terms of Use.
8. Public and community content
Information you place in a profile or community discussion may be visible to other users according to the feature's visibility. Do not post information you need to keep private.
9. Profile photos
Profile photos are stored in Doubtit's avatar storage. If you replace or remove a photo, the service may retain temporary cached copies while systems update.
10. Retention
We retain account information and community data while your account remains active and as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, associated account and community data is deleted from active systems where technically possible, subject to limited retention required for security, fraud prevention, legal obligations or backup recovery processes.
11. Account deletion
You can initiate account deletion from inside Doubtit through Settings. Users who no longer have access to the app can use the public Account Deletion page to submit a deletion request.
12. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
13. Your choices
- You can edit profile information from Edit Profile.
- You can control selected preferences in Settings.
- You can report community content and users through available moderation controls.
- You can delete your account using the deletion flow described above.
14. Children's privacy
Doubtit is intended for people aged 16 and older, or the higher minimum age required by applicable law. We do not knowingly permit people below the applicable minimum age to create or use accounts.
15. Third-party links
Doubtit may link to third-party websites such as book retailers or public information sources. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the service, laws or processing practices change. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date and, where appropriate, additional notice.
